Extra services and upsells for hostels

Guests add paid extras — breakfast, tours, gear rental, early access, late checkout — inside the same check-in flow that issues their door codes. The owner builds the catalog and sets the prices; payment happens by card, never cash at a desk.

What are hostel upsells, and how do guests buy them?

Hostel upsells are paid add-ons — breakfast, tours, gear rental, early access, late checkout — that guests buy alongside their stay instead of asking at a desk. In EZ2Stay, guests see the owner's own catalog of extra services, priced by the owner, inside Step 6 of online check-in. Paid early access (from 08:00) and late checkout (to 18:00) are configurable services in that same catalog. Payment happens by card through Stripe, either immediately or at checkout, depending on how the owner sets up each service.

How it works

  1. The owner builds the catalog. Breakfast, tours, gear rental, early access, late checkout — each with its own price and payment timing.
  2. The guest sees it at Step 6 of check-in. Extras are optional add-ons, selected and quantified alongside the booking, never mandatory.
  3. Payment happens by card. Immediately through Stripe, or at checkout — whichever the owner configured for that particular service.
  4. The booking records the extras. Each selection creates a linked service record the owner can see on the dashboard.
  5. Early access and late checkout ride the same catalog. Guests can buy access from 08:00 or checkout up to 18:00 today, as regular add-on services.

Not a fit if

  • You want guests to pay cash at a desk for extras — EZ2Stay only supports card payment inside the digital flow; there's no receptionist to hand cash to.
  • You expect a room-ready trigger to proactively offer early check-in today — that automation is on the roadmap; early access is currently a catalog service the guest chooses.
  • You want EZ2Stay to supply or fulfill the services itself — the catalog, pricing and fulfillment stay entirely the owner's.

Frequently asked questions about EZ2Stay for hostels

What extra services can guests buy?

Whatever the owner adds to the catalog — commonly breakfast, tours, gear rental, paid early access and late checkout, each with an owner-set price.

Is the 'room ready, offer early check-in' flow automated?

Not yet — that proactive, system-triggered offer is on the roadmap. Today, early access is a catalog service the guest selects and pays for like any other extra.

How late can checkout be pushed?

Up to 18:00, if the owner has enabled late checkout as a paid service. The 18:00 limit itself isn't configurable.

How early can access start?

From 08:00, if the owner has enabled paid early access. The 08:00 start itself isn't configurable.

How do guests pay for extras?

By card, through Stripe — either immediately when they add the service or at checkout, depending on how the owner configured it. There's no cash-at-desk option.

Does EZ2Stay provide the services itself?

No — the owner defines, prices and fulfills every service in the catalog. EZ2Stay only handles the ordering and payment flow.
