The EZ2Stay roadmap — what is live, what is honestly not yet
Most roadmaps are a wishlist dressed up as a plan. This one is a status report: what runs in production today at Popcorn Hostel, Bucharest, what's running in beta, and what we haven't built yet. No dates promised — items ship when they are production-ready, and this page is updated when they do.
What is live today
Every item below runs in production at Popcorn Hostel, Bucharest — 49 beds, 63 smart locks — not on a slide deck.
- Configurable online check-in (details, payment, ID, selfie, rules, extras)
- ID + selfie verification with automatic blacklist screening
- TTLock codes across all four zones — gate, entrance, dorm, locker
- Per-dorm cleaning: automatic task generation, partial cleans for shared dorms
- Bed management: per-bed inventory, auto-assignment, gender segmentation, group adjacency
- Guest guidebook as an offline-capable PWA
- Guest messaging: automated journey messages over WhatsApp, SMS or email
- Channel manager & PMS included in the package — no separate subscription
- Stripe payments: card charges, deposit pre-auth held and released automatically
- Romania guest-registry data collection and daily PDF export (the fișa de anunțare)
- Blacklist screening, private or shared across the platform
- Mobile admin dashboard — full feature set from a phone browser
In beta
Beta means it is running — at the pilot property, not yet declared generally available. We don't move an item out of beta until it has held up in production for a real stretch of time.
- SmartBill fiscal invoicing + e-Invoice (Romania) — automatic invoice generation is live; SmartBill filing is in beta
- SmartLife/Tuya smart-home integration — smart plugs, sensors, thermostats
On the roadmap
Roadmap means not built yet. We describe these items in the present tense nowhere else on this site, and we do not attach a quarter or a year to any of them — a date we can't keep is worse than no date at all.

What we will not build
No front-desk module. EZ2Stay is receptionless by design — guests never hand cash, cards or documents to a staff member, and no roadmap item changes that. If a request needs a person standing at a desk collecting money or paperwork, it isn't going on this roadmap.
No invented AI claims. We won't ship a feature described with an accuracy percentage or a capability we haven't verified in production. If a status says Live, it runs at Popcorn Hostel today; if it doesn't run yet, this page says Roadmap.
Frequently asked questions about EZ2Stay for hostels
Why isn't X live yet?
Usually because it hasn't held up in production yet. We ship items when they're ready, not on a schedule — an item stays on the roadmap until it has run reliably at Popcorn Hostel, our own pilot property.
Do roadmap items cost extra once they ship?
Pricing is decided when an item ships, not promised now. We're not going to commit to a price today for something that doesn't exist yet.
Will EZ2Stay ever add a front-desk or reception module?
No. Receptionless is the product, not a phase — guests never hand money or documents to staff. That won't change as the roadmap moves.
How do I know a feature is really live and not just announced?
Check its fact sheet on the relevant /features page — every capability there carries an honest Status column (Live, Beta or Roadmap) and a Limit column describing exactly what it doesn't do yet. This page mirrors those statuses.
