Hostel software for party hostels

Guests roll in from the bar at 3am, not 3pm, and the door still has to open for them without a night-shift receptionist standing there. EZ2Stay issues time-limited codes that work at any hour, gets house rules signed before a guest ever gets a code, and screens every arriving ID against your blacklist automatically.

What does a party hostel need from its software?

A party hostel needs arrivals that don't depend on someone being awake at a desk, house rules a guest has actually agreed to before they get a key, a way to keep out guests who caused trouble before, and cleaning that keeps up with high bed churn in shared dorms. EZ2Stay covers all four from the same online check-in: 4-digit codes that activate at check-in time and work identically at 3am or 3pm, a signed and versioned house-rules record, automatic blacklist screening at the ID step, and cleaning tasks that generate the moment a bed empties.

How does a guest get in at 3am if nobody's at the desk?

The same way they'd get in at 3pm: their 4-digit code activates at check-in time and works identically at any hour. Gate, entrance, dorm and locker all open on that one code — there's no separate night procedure to run.

What actually stops a guest from ignoring the house rules?

They sign the house rules — quiet hours, conduct, damage policy — as part of online check-in, before their access codes are issued. The signature, timestamp and rules version are all recorded, so there's a documented agreement to point to, not just a sign on a wall.

Can we keep out a guest who caused trouble on a previous stay?

Yes. An exact match on the guest's ID number against your blacklist blocks check-in automatically and alerts you immediately. A similar-name match flags the booking for a person to review rather than auto-blocking, so you don't lock out someone who just shares a name.

Can EZ2Stay tell us when a dorm gets too loud?

Not automatically — there's no live noise or decibel monitoring today. What is live: guests sign off on quiet hours before they get a code, and a guest who's caused problems before can be screened out at the door via blacklist matching.

How do we handle cleaning when beds turn over constantly?

Cleaning tasks are dorm-aware: if 4 of 6 beds check out and 2 guests stay on, the task is scoped to just those 4 beds, not the whole room. A full clean only triggers once every bed in that dorm is empty.

EZ2Stay runs in production at Popcorn Hostel, Bucharest — 49 beds, an urban hostel, not a party hostel. The model is the same, the seasonality is not: what we prove daily is the receptionless mechanics — check-in, codes, cleaning — not party-hostel experience.

Not a fit if

  • You want live noise or decibel monitoring, or automatic party detection — that isn't a capability today.
  • You want a staff member physically checking IDs at the door — EZ2Stay verifies identity before arrival instead; nobody handles documents in person.
  • You take non-EU guests without passports — driving licences and residence permits are always rejected, with the reason shown on screen.

Frequently asked questions about EZ2Stay for hostels

Do the access codes really work in the middle of the night?

Yes. Codes activate at the guest's check-in time and stay identical whether that's 2pm or 3am — there's no separate night-shift procedure.

Can we block a guest who was a problem last time they stayed?

An exact ID-number match against your blacklist blocks check-in automatically and alerts you. A name-only match is flagged for a person to confirm, not auto-blocked.

What happens if a guest damages the room?

If you've set a security deposit, it's held as a Stripe pre-auth at check-in and released automatically after checkout unless damage is reported within 24h, in which case you confirm the amount before any capture.

Is online check-in legal without a front desk?

In most EU countries, yes — the law requires collecting and reporting guest data, not a physical desk. Romania's registry export is live in EZ2Stay today.

Does EZ2Stay monitor noise or crowd size in dorms?

No, not today. There's no live decibel or occupancy sensor — what's live is the signed house-rules agreement and blacklist screening at check-in.
