What Does a Receptionless Hostel Actually Cost?
EZ2Stay prices per bed, not per property. Plans start from €1.49/bed/month (Basic, ≤50 beds) or run €2.99/bed/month (Pro), and every hostel also has a monthly minimum: €29 (1–20 beds), €49 (21–50), €99 (51+). You pay whichever number is higher for your bed count — the per-bed total or the minimum — so the price is never a mystery. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no card required, so you can see your exact monthly number before paying anything.
| Bed bracket | Monthly minimum | Basic rate | Worked example |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–20 beds | €29 | €1.49/bed/month | a 20-bed hostel pays €29/month |
| 21–50 beds | €49 | €1.49/bed/month | a 40-bed hostel pays €59.60/month (40 × €1.49) |
| 51+ beds | €99 | €1.49/bed/month | the per-bed rate is almost always the number that applies |
What Does a 20-Bed Hostel Pay?
A 20-bed hostel sits at the low end of the smallest bracket, where the monthly minimum does the work: a 20-bed hostel pays €29/month, full stop — no per-service add-ons, no surprise line items. That covers online check-in, ID verification, smart-lock access codes, and the built-in channel manager and PMS for all 20 beds.
What Does a 40-Bed Hostel Pay?
Once a property crosses into the 21–50 bed bracket, the per-bed rate usually overtakes the minimum: a 40-bed hostel pays €59.60/month (40 × €1.49) — more than the €49 minimum for that bracket, because the per-bed math wins. Every extra bed after that adds €1.49 to the monthly total, in a straight line, with no renegotiation.
What's Included at Each Tier?
Basic and Pro cover the same core: online check-in, ID and selfie verification, 4-digit time-limited access codes, blacklist screening, and the legal reporting a hostel needs — the channel manager and PMS are included, not a separate purchase. Pro adds the features that matter once a property has more moving parts to manage, at €2.99/bed/month (Pro) instead of the Basic rate.
Why Is There a Minimum at All?
A minimum isn't a trick to squeeze small hostels — it's what keeps the per-bed price honest. Below a certain bed count, €1.49/bed/month alone wouldn't cover running the platform, so the minimum fills that gap instead of hiding it in a higher per-bed rate for everyone. For most hostels, a single night-shift salary alone typically costs more than the entire monthly software bill, though the exact comparison depends on local wages and hours.
Limitations — what we'd do differently
- These are EZ2Stay's own software fees. Hardware (smart locks), payment-processing fees, and messaging costs are billed separately by their own providers, not by us.
- The two worked examples cover Basic pricing only; Pro's exact total per bed count isn't shown here — get your exact Pro number on the pricing page.
- Beyond 51 beds, the €99 minimum is a floor, not a ceiling — larger and custom properties are priced individually.
Frequently asked questions about EZ2Stay for hostels
How much does hostel software cost per bed?
EZ2Stay starts from €1.49/bed/month (Basic, ≤50 beds) or €2.99/bed/month (Pro), whichever total is higher than the applicable monthly minimum for your bed count. Most hostel tools price per room or per property, which charges dorms unevenly compared to a per-bed model.
Is there a free trial before I have to pay?
Yes. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial, no card required, so you can see your exact monthly total for your own bed count before committing to anything.
Why is there a monthly minimum instead of a flat per-bed price?
Below a certain bed count, the per-bed rate alone wouldn't cover running the platform, so a minimum of €29 (1–20 beds), €49 (21–50), €99 (51+) applies instead. It's published on the pricing page, not revealed after signup.
Does the price include the channel manager and PMS?
Yes — the channel manager and PMS are included in the per-bed rate, not sold as a separate tool. Online check-in, ID verification, and smart-lock access codes are included too.
